That's the way I see it

My take on some of the issues of life and my experiences - the way I see it. Warning! While always wanting to be polite - I am not concerned about being PC.

Spinning yer Wheels

Lately it feels like I am just spinning my wheels - lots of smoke and squealing but not much forward motion. You work your heart out trying to teach a group of kids and they suddenly forget how to tell the difference between a verb and a noun - again (for the umpteenth time this year so far). Just when you thought you are making progress - wham - comes the test and then, thump, the realization that you didn't make very much progress after all. It's kind of discouraging.
I guess I see this alot lately. Lots of motion but not much forward movement. I see it healthwise, family life, professionally. And it makes life seem pretty grey. "Is this all there is? Is there nothing more," quips the familiar Vulcan officer we all know and love. Gosh, I know how he feels - at least just a bit.
But hey, the day really wasn't all bad. And it seems the tide may be turning in lots of areas. I guess it's just easy to get swamped in the high tides and feel you are in Waterworld instead of on God's good earth. Goodness, I am sounding quite maudlin and silly with all the movie quotes and illusions. Guess I'll just stop now.
